Like every purposeful venture, the
Mumbai Academy of MovingImages(MAMI), too, was born of a dream.
In 1997
a dream of promotion of meaningful cinema in a
city that has cinema oozing out of every pore. A city which boasts
of hundred and twenty movie halls that are often packed
to capacity with its cinephillic denizens. In other words, a
city that prides itself in being India's film Capital.

Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and the Jamia Milia
Islamia Mass Communication Research (MCRC) centre are
the two major film education institutes in India. They have been
known for their quality education, and graduates.
